H2002. Correction factor for estimated rates

H2002. Correction factor for estimated rates

Certain local conditions, which are beyond the contractor's control may negatively influence the contractor's efficiency. This makes it necessary to apply correction factors in order to achieve a correct normtime (see DACE NORMTIMES) which is representative of the actual conditions in which the work is executed.

Correction factors are applied to the standard norm times to take into account the local circumstances which are not covered in the standard time-norm.

Often the costs in the tables within this book are made up of a labour portion (in which a norm-time is estimated) and a material part (where the material costs are estimated).

The correction factor applies only to the labour part. This must be taken into account when applying. Often in the tables the labour and material parts are given as percentage of the costs.

The correction factors apply for work activities carried out in such specific conditions.

The local ground level is assumed as 0.

Influence Description Circumstances Factor
Height Over 6 m 0 to 6 m 1,00
6 to 12 m 1,10
12 to 18 m 1,15
18 to 24 m 1,20
> 24 m 1 + 0,01/m
Underground 1,5 m under ground level 0 to -1,5 m 1,00
-1,5 to -3 m 1,05
-3 to -6 m 1,10
Enclosed space is mainly small, without sunlight and ventilation, and difficult to reach 1,25
Restricted standing height Creep areas and basements 1,5 to 9 m 1,10
< 0,9 m 1,20
Special personal protection equipment If the use of special safety equipment is necessary Breathing air and acid resistent clothing 2,00
Respiratory equipment 1,70
Safety harnas 1,25
External circumstances A location where the influence of the efficiency of labour is know by the owner For every specific location/space a specific factor shall apply
